The Prayer Watch on April 18th
Friday April 18, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. the prayer watch began. I felt the Holy Spirit leading us to be still and wait on the Lord. We were to enjoy the overflow of the Spirit of the Worship Encounter. Scriptures that we meditated upon were:

Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him."

Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord!"

Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God”, “cease striving “stop struggling” and know that I am God.”

There was a time of live worship followed by communion. The time of worship lead us into an intimate time with the Lord. The last song was “Amazing Grace.” Communion was taken and the direction of prayer for communion was His amazing grace. It was a time that could have only been orchestrated by the Holy Spirit.

About 1:00 A.M. we began a cry for repentance of the things that the church has tolerated. Some of the tolerated sins that were repented of were pride, racism, perversion, religious and controlling spirits. A word was given that I (Chris Ford) as the leader needed to repent of the spirit of abortion. This was not the spirit of abortion that we would typically think of it was a spiritual abortion. There have been many saved at Glad Tidings but have fallen away. This particular spirit has come to cut off new spiritual life. It was a time of intercession and travailing.

We declared and decreed that Glad Tidings will be a house of prayer to all nations. The second decree was that 7415 Hickory was where the Glory of the Lord dwells. There was also a release of power and authority to operate in the gifts that the Lord has given us.

Each watch is uniquely different and this one was no exception. The Glory of the Lord dwelt among us for some time approximately until 4:00 A.M. The heaviness of the Spirit made time fly. Before we knew it; it was 4:00 A.M. There were times that we could hardly walk because of the weightiness of His presence.

The next prayer watch will be Friday May 16th.

The Prayer Watch on October 19th
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. - Psalm 23:5

Esther chapter 5 and 7
These preceding passages were the theme or direction that I felt the Lord was leading for the watch. There was a dinner table complete with candles and china at the front of the sanctuary. The table was there to remind us of our position with Christ our beloved. When everything is breaking loose around us we can focus in on Him, face to face. He has prepare a table of blessing before us and He is inviting us to partake with Him.

The evening was filled with worship, adoration, petition and communion with the Lord.

One prayer read Esther 2:16-18 and the Holy Spirit gave her “put on your finery; prepare yourself for the King . . .for the Bridegroom. Purify . . . Purify . . . Purify”. As we prepare the way for the Lord, we must prepare ourselves to be spotless for HIS return.

Dr. Dada prayed over Pastor Rice symbolically of all the pastors a transfer of what he has learned about healing in the natural to a supernatural anointing for healing for all the pastors. Then a word was spoken over Pastor Rice that when he walks into a hospital room the patient will be expecting him to come. They will also see Jesus and not him.

We prayed for our church, city, state and nation. We prayed for the peace of Jerusalem and the selection of a senior pastor for Glad Tidings.

The Prayer Watch on September 21st
The prayer watch began at 10:00 p.m. on Friday September 21st.  The Lord had been impressing upon me to “Prepare the Way of the Lord.”  But when the evening began the Lord spoke the word “unity” to me.  We began the evening at the front of the sanctuary with our arms locked with one another and I read Psalm 133.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments.  It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing- Life forevermore.

We began to pray for unity and oneness in the body of Christ.  It was a beautiful time of entering into a place of worship while pressing into what t he Word of God says about unity among the believers.   Pastor Rice shared from Psalm 112 the benefits of dwelling in unity and delighting in the commandments of the Lord.

We shared communion together.  Im Calvert spoke of the Day of Atonement.  Friday night was the beginning of the Day of Atonement.  In the Jewish tradition this was the day each year that there was a sacrifice made for their sins.

There were many times that we came together in a circle and prayed with one accord.  The first thing we prayed for was our church.  We prayed for the direction of Glad Tidings, the pastors of Glad Tidings and the board of Glad Tidings.  Next we began to pray for the church of Omaha and then for our state.

During this time of prayer there was a vision:
As we were praying from 12 midnight until 1:00 A.M., I saw flashes of blue.  Blue is authority from above; Holy Spirit.  During this vision we were praying for Glad Tidings pastors asking the Lord to pour out His spirit on all flesh and on this house.  As we continued in prayer the color turned to white which stands for holiness of God, Christ righteousness.  Then Lilette prayed a prayer of repentance and the color retuned to blue; the blue was an electric blue.

About 3:00 A.M. we began to pray for a young man named Warren.  He is the son of a co-worker of Karlene Witzig’s   Warren is eight years old and has been plagued with a syndrome that paralyzes him for hours or even days.  There is only one other case of this type in this region.  We prayed and believed God for the miraculous for Warren.  That God would breathe life back into the muscles, ligaments and his cells.  We also believe that God will use this for His Glory.

We also began to take authority over the spirit of infirmity called cancer.  We declared a cancer free zone over Glad Tidings and anyone who is associated with this body.

Another word that came from the Lord was:
There is a true and lingering spirit of worship that is so pleasing to Me; I am overwhelmed at the display of the great love for Me that is being displayed tonight.  The sanctuary is decorated in expectation of the bride and bridegrooms union.  The bride groom is here but not yet revealed.

How good it is when the brethren dwell together in unity.  It was an incredible night that displayed the peace and presence of our Almighty God.

Each watch has been uniquely different. I hope you will come and join us!

The Prayer Watch on August 17th
The Watch of the Lord on Friday, August 17th was an incredible time with the Lord. The Word that the Lord gave me for Friday night was from Nehemiah, chapter 1 how Nehemiah interceded to the Father on behalf of his people. Nehemiah was standing in the gap for his people. He prayed, wept and fasted for his people. Nehemiah was repenting for the sins of his people and praying for the favor/mercy of the Lord. Jerusalem's wall had broken and burned places. Those broken and burned places are places that the enemy could get in.

The evening began with worship and adoration onto the Father then a time of communion. There was a word shared about the “gates.” We need to know the meaning of each of these gates listed in Nehemiah chapter 3 and make sure that these areas are repaired.

The gates listed in Nehemiah chapter 3 are:
  • Sheep Gate
  • Fish Gate
  • Old Gate
  • Valley Gate
  • Refuge Gate (Dung Gate NIV)
  • Fountain Gate
  • Water Gate
  • Horse Gate
  • Miphkad Gate

Some other areas of prayer:
  • Repentance for many different areas
  • Holiness, when people would drive in the parking lot they would begin feeling the holiness of God
  • Purity
  • Passion for the Lord
  • Passion for prayer
  • Students going back to school that the schools would be places of revival
  • Unity for the body of Christ
  • Pastoral staff
  • Deacon board
  • Weekend services

There was a time of warring as well as worship. I am amazed at each Watch the increased amount of revelation that is received. I hope you will plan to join us! I know you won’t return home the same!

The Prayer Watch on July 20th
The Prayer Watch began with a time of worship before the Throne Room. Early into our Watch we received a word from the LORD stating that the house of Glad Tidings could not become a house of prayer until each of us individually became a house of prayer.

The scripture that came later was Lamentations 2:19; “Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord.” NIV

There was a corporate time of repentance and communion followed by petitioning the heavenlies for our pastors, deacons, support staff, missionaries, children through to young adults and the church of Omaha. The Lord implored us to war for the unity of the church in Omaha.

This Watch was very different in nature from the last one, but we believer much territory was restored. There were many revelations that evening from the Lord; some personal and some corporate.

One of the main avenues for intercession was for the Presence of the Lord. We were calling for a church who desires Him, that desires the Presence of the Lord more than anything else, a desperate hunger that could not be satisfied.

We are looking forward to what the lord has for us at the next Prayer Watch on August 17th. Please come and join the body of Christ as we petition at the foot of the Throne of Grace.
