MISSIONS
The Bible tells us in I Peter 3:9 that Jesus Christ came that all might be saved.  Missions is reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus Christ.  We believe that every Christian is called to be involved in missions either financially and prayerfully or by actually going to the field.  We are also called to be a witness in our own circle of influence.

At Glad Tidings Church, our mandate is to reach the lost in Omaha and around the world.   Currently we support over 60 missionaries.
HOME MISSIONS
Support of parachurch and local ministries is an essential part of the vision of Glad Tidings Church.  Several of our home missionaries include Teen Challenge, Compassion in Action, the Open Door Mission, Good News Jail and Prison Ministry and our many outreaches to the Native American in the United States.
FOREIGN MISSIONS
Going overseas and leaving family and the familiar behind is not an easy step. Yet, our foreign missionaries have done just that. They are obedient to the call that is upon their lives. Glad Tidings supports missionaries all over the world.
10/40 WINDOW
Our special emphasis on the foreign field is the 10/40 Window where the majority of those who still need to be reached with the Gospel are located. These are the difficult places such as Northern Africa, the Middle east and Asia, including India and China.   Read More
UPCOMING MISSIONS TRIPS
Being able to witness first hand what is happening around the world is often the opportunity the Lord has used to speak to our hearts about those who do not have Christ. Going on a short term missions trip is a wonderful way to "get your feet wet" and develop a true burden for others. A short term missions trip goes beyond adventure, beyond travel and beyond culture. It’s about changing darkness to light. It’s about making a difference for eternity.

Our upcoming missions trips are listed below. If you are interested in participating in any area of missions, please contact Pam Franks our Missions Coordinator.

  • Work Team to Flagstaff, AZ with Pastor Jackie Holgate - August 2008
  • Czech Republic Worship Team - October 2008
  • Native American Team - November 2008
  • India Prayer Team - November 2008
FAITH PROMISE
If you are interested in financially supporting our missionaries, we encourage you to do so by making a faith promise. A faith promise is a spiritual agreement between you and God in which you commit to give a monthly amount to missions through your local church. A faith promise is not your tithe or a portion of your tithe.

Any individual or family can make a faith promise. Even children can make their own faith promises. No amount is too small. God honors and uses our obedience more than the amount of our gift. Limited income should not prevent anyone from making a faith promise.

A faith promise gives us the opportunity to participate in the Great Commission. As we do our part in missions, His purpose will be accomplished both in our lives and in the lives of others around the world.

Your monthly faith promise check can be turned in to the Glad Tidings Office at any time or placed in the offering during regular services.
ADOPT A MISSIONARY
All missionaries have one thing in common; the need for prayer. Fighting the battle on the front lines is a precarious position to be in, one that demands constant prayer. Our missionaries are facing more challenges on the field than ever before. Prayer requests are constantly flowing in. One way to better support our missionaries in prayer is to assign a missionary to each Glad Tidings cell group. This way, our missionaries receive specified prayer on a regular basis by staying in contact with their cell group.
